For the 2021 Black History Program, the junior journalism class, at Valdosta Early sought to create a program that would align with the National Black History 2021 Theme: “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity”. Robert Russell, as videographer, and Kaylen Stacks, as photo-researcher, worked diligently to fuse their classmates’ ideas, the National Black history themes, and the creativity of their surroundings to present a program that would highlight the multifaceted components that play a vital role in the lives of many African-Americans. Hence, the Black family. The Journalism 11 class has done an upstanding job presenting scripts, videos, personal accounts, and poems from Mrs. L. McDuffie’s class, which represent not only the Black family but the spirit of the VECA family also. The program was streamed "live" on VECA's YouTube channel Thursday afternoon, February 25, 2021, for the students, faculty, staff, and administration to enjoy.
